The VR scanner is conceived to be a product that breaks conventional attitudes to what a scanner should look like, and is destined for applications where rival scanners are just too clumsy and awkward. The VR8 has a 150W discharge lamp with a 6000-hour life. The VR8 holds 11 gobos plus open white. The VR8-R uses the same lamp but incorporates 8 rotating gobos and a separate strobe shutter. Inside the svelte casing, Abstract has created a range of features more advanced and more dynamic than any other scanner of VR proportions, and many much larger. The Abstract VR has a full digital display function that indicates configuration settings and performance parameters such as the hour usage of the lamp, and allows full mode selection for the unit. Additionally, you can program up to 8 scenes using the digital menu. This program can be played back at any time without a controller. The use of a trapezoid color system produces totally seamless movement between the 12 beautiful dichroic colors (10 colors plus white and multicolor).
