BATTERY STUDIO DRUMS is a comprehensive, meticulously recorded collection of over
1.1 GB of acoustic drum samples designed for the BATTERY drum sampler. These kits
are also compatible with the NI sampler KONTAKT.
The sample library was developed in partnership with Yellow Tools and combines
over 3000 edited samples of five studio drum sets in extraordinary sound quality.
The recorded drum sets include drums from DW™, Pearl™, Sonor™,
Tama™, and Yamaha™ with Cymbals from Sabian™, Paiste™,
Meinl™ and Zildjan™.
Two BATTERY CD-ROMs contain twelve GM-compatible studio-kits, eleven chromatic
kits, and three tom kits (from 8 to 16 inch). The sounds cover a wide variety
of musical styles like Pop, Rock, Jazz, Soul, Funk, and more. Up to 16 velocity

offers a huge selection of inspiring sounds. From earth-shuddering bass samples
and snares that cut straight through the mix to effects that instantly capture

styles. Whether House or Hiphop, IDM or UKG, Techno or Trance, R'n'B or D'n'B,
Old School or Nu Skool – SYNTHETIC DRUMS 2 has its finger on the pulse.
Sample Twisting
The over 2400 samples have all been produced exclusively for Synthetic Drums
2. A huge arsenal of equipment was used to create the sounds. The samples themselves
were subjected to a lengthy production process involving numerous effects, filters,
ring modulators, compressors, frequency shifters, granular samplers and so on.
All of the producers were given complete artistic freedom, resulting in an extremely
varied and individual set of kits. Every kit also has a short demo sound-clip
that has been produced exclusively with the samples from that kit. A MIDI file
is also included, offering an insight into how the clip was arranged.
BATTERY 2 and KONTAKT
The 36 drum kits have all been optimized for use with BATTERY 2 and KONTAKT,
making heavy use of the varied sound processing features such as filters, loops,
velocity, effects and modulation. The results are extremely diverse and distinctive
sounds that can be quickly trimmed to individual needs in BATTERY 2 and KONTAKT.
All the samples are included in 24-bit / 44.1 KHz WAV format. To give an overview
of what is available, SYNTHETIC DRUMS 2 also contains special kits that group
all the bass drums, all the snares, all the toms and so on into individual kits.
There are sound examples for every kit in the new sound player, top right of
the screen!

Oli Rubow is one Germany's best-known drummers. He fuses sophisticated live
drumming with modern electronic grooves in his "organic electro beats"
project. He also works as a live and session drummer for De Phazz, Die Fantastischen

01 - Performances

A huge selection of slow ambient pads, based on largely synthetic samples. Heavy
use has been made of filtering, modulation and other effects, resulting in especially
lively and dynamic sounds.
03 - Vocalized
As the name suggest, the “Vocalized” category is dedicated to all
things vocal. Such features as the Time and Tone machines come into their own
here and produce some unique results.
04 - Harmonized
This “Harmonized” group of sounds contains instruments, such as
harmonized pianos, that make use of scripts such as “easy chord generator”
or “constrain to scale”. Typical house stabs as well as strummed
chords are also included.
05 - Guitarized
Again, scripts come into play in the “Guitarized” category, for
example simulating guitar strings being strummed. The convolution module is
also used to layer the impulse responses from specific cabinets over the sound.
06 - Exotic
The Exotic section is an amazing collection of weird and wonderful sounds: strange
loops, special effects and a whole lot more.
07 - Melodic Loops
The Loops and Rhythm section includes, amongst others, a Loop designer script
to mangle a sliced loop and features samples that are processed using KONTAKT
2's Beat and Time machine features.
08 - Lead & Bass Synths
As the name implies, synthesizer-based lead sounds are on offer here. There
is also the option of using the included “solo mode” and “legato”
scripts to produce some interesting results.
09 - Arpeggiated
As well as several slightly simpler arpeggiators there are also some fairly
intricate constructions that use more than one voice per key or which are harmonized
in a special way. Again, some interesting and distinctive results are guaranteed
with these instruments.
10 - Drumkits & Drumloops
The included drum computer script has been used to program these drum kits,
allowing tempo and they like to be altered radically without suffering a loss
in quality. Combining these 'pattern instruments' with some chords and the “Poly
Step” script will also generate fairly unusual rhythms.

This virtual instrument, fashioned after the Sequential Circuits™ Prophet™-5,
provides the sonic properties of the unique originals while meeting the practical
requirements of the present day.
Inspired by the immortal sound of the synthesizer giants of the eighties, Native
Instruments created the PRO-53 to cast in software those qualities that have
been such a major influence on popular music in the past twenty years: brilliance,
power, warmth and beauty. Through Native Instruments' creative development philosophy,
these timeless aesthetics have now reached the next step in their evolution.
The result is the manifest re-definition of an original that was regarded as
unrivalled until now.
PRO-53 – The New Version
With the PRO-53, the third generation of the virtual analog classic is now available.
The synthesizer emulation has been vastly improved by a new oscillator technology
that offers an even warmer and more brilliant sound. In addition the sonic possibilities
have been expanded even further with new features like a high-pass filter mode
and an invertible filter envelope. The control surface was also reworked and
now shines in a whole new light.

Using Native Instruments' highly advanced NSP-Technology (Native Signal Processing)
it is possible to generate a software synthesizer that rivals its legendary
hardware predecessors. The Native Instruments PRO-53 sets new standards without
denying its origins.
What's new: no fixed limit to the number of voices, many more savable preset
slots, velocity sensitivity, MIDI automation of all available parameters, an
additional effects section, a high-pass filter mode, invertible filter envelope,
audio input, LFO-envelope retrigger, and the option to run several PRO-53s in
parallel.
Sounds for any eventuality
The PRO-53 is able to import Prophet-5™ SysEx sound data, which means
it can read and accurately reproduce all the existing sound libraries made for
the original. The subtle deviations from perfect behaviour, which are typical
of analog circuits and crucial to the sound, can now be fine-tuned.
The huge sound library gives the PRO-53 plenty of material for all kinds of
musical styles: 512 selected classic and modern analog sounds cover any possibility.
64 of these sounds have already been programmed for the previous version by
synthesizer legend John Bowen, one of the creators of the Prophet™-5 synthesizer.
In addition, PRO-53 comes with 64 new sound presets, which were specially designed
to take advantage of PRO-53's new features.
512 preset memory slots are available where you can store your own sound creations.
The PRO-53 displays a name for each of the presets, unlike the original which
only displayed the preset number.
Effects
A built-in effects unit adds multi-echo and ultra-fat chorus and flanging effects.
This makes the sound of the PRO-53 'complete' for both live performance and
studio production. The included preset sounds make extensive use of the effects.
The PRO-53 also has an audio input for processing external audio signals through
its filters and effects.
Integration
The Native Instruments PRO-53 integrates perfectly into any computer based virtual
studio by supporting the interfaces VST®, Audio Units™, DXi™
and RTAS™. It can be used as a sequencer plug-in or as a stand-alone synthesizer.
